Story Overview

Vega now has the ability to explore independently without having to rely on her mum or dad to be her ‘arms and legs'

Why Vega needed our help.

Vega, 3, is living with dyskinetic cerebral palsy which means that she is unable to move around independently.

She was getting very frustrated as she became increasingly aware of what she could not do. She had been watching what other children or her younger sister were capable of and wanted to be able to do the same.

How Wizzybug has helped.

Her mum shared: “We knew that independent exploration is so important for a child’s development. Having Wizzybug enables her to learn vital skills at an early age in a fun way.

“Not only that, Wizzybug is allowing Vega the ability to show her cheeky side. Sometimes she eyes me up, notices I’m a certain distance away and drives in the other direction knowing that I’ll chase her!”

Her mum loved watching her play independently with her cousins in the garden

“She was whizzing around all over the place and she just seemed so ‘proud’ - her cousins were very impressed! I didn’t have to be involved which was such a fantastic experience.”

How we made a difference

Her mum added: “We can now play chase as a family out in the garden. We can do the kinds of games you associate with childhood now and it’s wonderful. It feels a bit more ‘normal’ to have this ability to play together.”
