An international, multidisciplinary network of universities, service providers and industry partners dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
Improving the lives of peple with intellectual disabilities
The Daughters Of Charity Technology and Research Into Disability (DOCTRID) network reaches hundreds of people across the globe, all of whom have a passion for improving the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and is one of the world’s largest connected efforts to improve life for individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism, through innovative research. This gives us an extraordinary capacity to make a difference.
The clinicians, psychologists, occupational therapists, computer scientists, educators and numerous other experts among the DOCTRID partners are working together on a range of high quality research projects to:
- Identify the challenges and barriers facing people with intellectual disabilities or ASD
- Gather information
- Devise solutions (e.g. assistive technology, policy recommendations) to allow people with intellectual disabilities or ASD to participate in society to their fullest potential
