We are seeking an Operations and Commercial Manager to join our Operations team, helping to maximise the commercial potential of Designability’s products, as well as supporting the overall operations of the organisation.

Salary: £35,000 FTE

Contract: 37.5hrs/week (open to flexible working), 12 months fixed-term

Location: Office based in Bath, but home working during Covid-19 restrictions

About the role

This is an exciting new role that will help to maximise the commercial potential of the products that Designability designs, creates and provides as well as supporting the overall operations of the charity.

You will support the Head of Operations to manage the relationships with existing commercial partners as well as helping to develop and maintain relationships with new partners, contributing to the overall business objectives of the organisation.

You will work across departments to ensure that the operations of the organisation are managed effectively and efficiently, undertaking a variety of projects as delegated by the Head of Operations.

You will have:

  • Experience in business development or commercial management
  • Strong operational management experience, working to deadlines and delivering on time and budget
  • Exceptional communication, influencing and negotiation skills

About us

Designability is an independent charity that enables disabled people to live with greater independence. Our expertise is in user-centred design, creating products with and for disabled people to improve and enrich their lives. All of our work is funded by voluntary donations.

We deliver choice by involving disabled people across our organisation and throughout the design process to create innovative product solutions not available elsewhere.

You will be joining a small team which includes mechanical and electronics engineers, workshop technicians, product designers, occupational therapists, fundraisers, researchers and administrators.
