We are seeking an Marketing and Communications Officer (maternity cover) to join our small fundraising and communications team and lead the delivery of our communications plans over the next 15 months.

Salary: £24,000 – 30,000 FTE

Contract: 30 – 37.5hrs/week (open to flexible working), 15 months fixed-term maternity cover

Location: Office based in Bath, but home working during Covid-19 restrictions

About the role

This is a varied and diverse role and you will be joining at an exciting time as we celebrate the 10 year anniversary of our flagship product and service, the Wizzybug Loan Scheme.

You will have:

  • Experience in creating and delivering marketing and PR campaigns, including digital marketing.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience of copywriting.
  • Experience working with WordPress based websites, SEO, and managing accounts across a variety of social media platforms.
  • The ability to work sensitively with beneficiaries to gather case studies and stories to increase awareness of Designability.

You will work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Communications to take responsibility for the management of digital and offline marketing and communications – including website, social media channels and email.

You will also lead our public relations and promotional events, as well as providing support for fundraising activities, in order to raise brand awareness, donated income and grow enquiries and engagement with our stakeholders.

Designability is an independent charity that enables disabled people to live with greater independence. Our expertise is in user-centred design, creating products with and for disabled people to improve and enrich their lives. All of our work is funded by voluntary donations.

We deliver choice by involving disabled people across our organisation and throughout the design process to create innovative product solutions not available elsewhere.

You will be joining a small team which includes mechanical and electronics engineers, workshop technicians, product designers, occupational therapists, fundraisers, researchers and administrators.
