We are expanding our manufacturing facilities and team and are looking for an outstanding Deputy Workshop Manager to take a leading role in this development.
Salary: £30,212, per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Location: Designability workshop, central Bath
About the role
We are at an exciting time in our history, experiencing unprecedented growth in demand for our products and services in the UK and overseas markets. To meet this demand, we are expanding our manufacturing facilities and team and are looking for an outstanding Deputy Workshop Manager to take a leading role in this development.
The role of Deputy Workshop Manager will involve working closely with the Workshop Manager to assist with the management of the department, providing support and leadership to other team members and stepping up to act as Workshop Manager when required. This is a hands-on role, requiring the flexibility to change priorities based on the demands of the department, meaning hands-on assembly work, wiring/electrical, machining and fabrication.
You will ideally be from an engineering background with supervisory experience in a production environment in a small to medium sized enterprise. You will have knowledge of stock management and IT systems, be comfortable working with suppliers and maintaining relationships, whilst driving the highest standards of quality and reliability. Designability is a manufacturer of class 1 medical devices, so experience of working within a regulated field and within a quality management system is desirable.
This is a small but high performing team and the ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual who is driven by the collective success of the organisation. The provision of our products directly makes a difference to the lives of people living with a disability and this will be a motivating factor for the successful applicant.
