A reflection of the views of our charity team
The rankings for the ‘Best Charities to Work For 2020‘ were a joint effort by Third Sector – the UK’s leading publication for the charity and voluntary sector – and Best Companies Group, an independent workplace excellence research firm.
The process consisted of an Employer Questionnaire (25%) and Employee Engagement and Satisfaction survey (75%) which gave the team the opportunity to share their views on what it was like to work for Designability.
The research, compiled before the current coronavirus pandemic, showed that organisations highly rated by staff encourage activities to create strong teams and foster good personal relationships.
Positive feedback on leadership and strategic planning
Charity employers that made the list also scored highly on leadership and strategic planning, with 95% of staff agreeing that they had confidence in their organisation’s leadership. An even higher 97% said they understood the organisation’s long-term strategy.
Catharine Brown, Chief Executive of Designability, said: “I am so delighted that Designability has been voted second in the UK’s Best Charities to Work For 2020.
"As a small charity, we have very little budget to spend on staff development, compared to some of the larger charities who entered, and our success is a reflection of the amazing team here.
"We support each other, and our culture is one which is family-friendly and based on trust."
“We give our all to help disabled people with their daily challenges and I could not be more proud to lead this fantastic team.”
The programme was open to all UK-registered charities with more than 15 employees and was free to enter.
