Reimagining a companion trolley for older people as a practical, desirable piece of furniture for the home

Difficult to use trolley

What's the problem?

Research found that many older people did not use existing trolleys for carrying items around the home because they disliked how they looked and felt they resembled medical aids.

Process

Working with a small group of older people, we developed a simple, modern design that felt at home in the home. We also added practical features like a storage drawer and footrest to make it more useful day to day.
