Philanthropy Manager (maternity cover)

We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to join our friendly team to manage income and relationships from Charitable Trusts and Major Donor prospects, with the support of the Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser.

Purpose of the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a person who loves making new connections, building strong relationships, and working closely with a multidisciplinary team to join Designability and help us achieve our ambitions set out in our 2023-2026 strategy and make a difference to daily life for disabled people across the UK.

Critical to the success of the role will be the ability to identify and research opportunities, and engage, communicate and build relationships to win support from new and existing donors and prospects. The role will involve close collaboration with colleagues across Designability to develop a deep understanding of our charity’s work.

The successful candidate will be a confident communicator at all levels, both in person and via written communications, with experience of producing compelling funding applications, and engaging reports.

This is a fixed-term contract (12-15months dependent on start date).

You will proven experience of:

  • Successfully securing five to six figure gifts, and of building strong relationships with new and existing donors and prospects.
  • Producing compelling proposals, funding applications, reports and presentations as required to demonstrate a case for support or meet grant criteria.
  • Researching, identifying and successfully managing a new pipeline of donor prospects.
  • Maximising networking opportunities and establishing long term support.
  • Line management.
