A usability evaluation

Glory Global commissioned us to test the usability of their latest customer-facing Assisted-Service banking product, TellerInfinity.

Our in-house design team reviewed the user interface and hardware design and worked with expert partners, Vision North Somerset, DeafPlus, SironaHft, Innovations in Dementia, and AgeUK BANES to evaluate the solution for the following user groups:

  • Wheelchair use
  • Visual impairment
  • Hearing impairment
  • Learning difficulties
  • Dementia
  • Older people

We then arranged for people across a wide age range to test the machine in our on-site assessment centre. This testing included people with specific disabilities or impairments and also people without any health problems.

Details of the evaluation

We were able to provide Glory Global Solutions with a complete usability evaluation service covering:

  • Recruitment of participants
  • Evaluation session design and delivery
  • Analysis
  • Presentation of findings
  • Design recommendations

The outcomes of the work were presented to the Glory Global Solutions’ design team and representatives from parent company, Glory Ltd., at their European development facility in Portugal.

“I have been very happy with the work the team have done throughout the process. Where possible we have incorporated Designability’s hardware recommendations into the design.

[As a result of the work] we will also prepare a guide for banks and their software integration partners as to how the software should be developed to make it more usable particularly for the disabled user groups considered.

Thanks again for a successful collaboration and I will not hesitate to recommend your organisation for similar projects in the future."
